Azulita Earrings

A vertical cascade of small beaded flowers, each one woven separately in cobalt blue with a pale silver-grey outline, then linked so the whole strand swings as one. The blue is flat and saturated; the outline is what makes each flower read clearly against skin and hair.

They start from a small gold stud at the lobe and fall long, past the jawline, but there is no metal in the drop, so the weight stays close to nothing.

Hand-beaded by indigenous women artisans in Colombia in high-quality glass beads on stainless steel. Each strand is woven bead by bead, so no two pairs fall in exactly the same way.

Keep away from water, perfume, creams and hairspray, and put them on last when you get dressed. Store them flat rather than hanging, so the strand does not stretch. Clean only with a soft dry cloth; never submerge them.

A long, narrow drop from a small stud — the silhouette stays close to the neck instead of sticking out, which is why this pair works on days a wider earring would be too much.

Blue does most of the work: strong against white, navy, denim and black, and unexpectedly good with a bare shoulder. Wear them alone, without a necklace.
