Crocodile Totem

The Crocodile Totem is a symbol of courage. It carries the reminder to trust your instincts and move forward without asking permission first. Part of the Jungle Totems collection, a set of beaded animals meant to keep you connected to nature and to yourself.

It is hand-beaded by women artisans of the Kamentsá community in Putumayo, Colombia, using plastic beads filled with reused plastic bags. The technique is theirs, the meanings behind the totems were shaped with them, and the work is paid on fair trade terms. Every piece comes out slightly different because every piece is made by hand.

How to wear it

At 48 cm it sits just below the collarbone over a plain neckline, where the beadwork reads clearly. Layer it with the shorter Lucky Me or wear it alone against block colour.
